Computer Science at The Academy
The Dublin Academy of Education are delighted to announce that we will be offering Computer Science as a Leaving Cert subject in both our Full-Time school and Weekly Grinds for the 2021/22 academic year.
Computer science is the study of computing and algorithmic processes. Leaving Certificate Computer Science includes how programming and computational thinking can be applied to the solution of problems, and how computing technology impacts the world around us.
Ciaran Hartigan, Principal at The Academy, expressed his delight at the new subject on offer for students saying “we are delighted to add this exciting new subject to our range of options for our Leaving Certificate students. I have no doubt that it will prove to be a popular and motivating choice for students.”
Computer Science is the 24th subject available to our full-time students.
Students will be able to attend Computer Science Weekly Grinds at The Academy, enabling students to sit this subject on for the Leaving Cert even if their current school do not offer it. For the coming year, these grinds will only take place for 5th Year students so they can complete syllabus in the two years. Click here to book your place in our 5th Year Computer Science Grinds.
