The Department of Education and Skills, the Teaching Council and the Colleges of Education have recognised TEG Meánleibhéal 2 (B2) as one of the Irish language qualifications that meet the entry requirement for postgraduate courses in primary teaching. In addition, applicants for the Professional Master of Education (Primary) are required to achieve a minimum of 65% in a TEG B1 oral examination in order to apply for that programme.

Which institutions of education will be using TEG Intermediate 1 (B1) as a competency language exam for the PME?

DCU, Froebel Department, Maynooth University, Mary Immaculate College, Marino Institute of Education

Do I have to take the full TEG exam?

No, candidates are only required to take the oral exam in this instance.

I have a degree in Irish. Do I have to do this exam?

Yes, everybody who applies for the PME (Primary Education) must take this oral exam.

Can you do these courses if you don't live in Dublin?
