Stephen Coyle

Mathematics and Applied Mathematics

Stephen is an experienced Mathematics and Applied Mathematics teacher.

He holds a BSc in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, and Education, as well as an MSc in Mathematics and Science Education from University College Dublin. Stephen is also an active member of both the Irish Mathematics Teachers' Association and the Irish Applied Mathematics Teachers' Association.

His teaching philosophy centres on a simple but powerful belief: anyone can be good at Maths. Stephen understands that many students struggle not because of ability, but due to gaps in their understanding or a lack of confidence. Through this ethos, Stephen places a strong emphasis on carefully scaffolding learning by breaking down complex ideas into manageable steps and ensuring students have a secure understanding of concepts before moving on.

By combining modern digital technologies with traditional "chalk and talk" instruction, Stephen knows how to keep students engaged and motivated through every topic. Through his structured and supportive approach, he consistently empowers students to achieve top marks, maximise their potential, and develop lasting confidence in their own abilities.
