Physics

Daniel has been teaching Physics and Maths for 20 years in the Irish Education system at both Leaving Cert and 3rd level. Daniel has a BSc in Science Education from DCU and an M.Ed from UL. Throughout his years of teaching, he has experienced the full spectrum of students, from those struggling to get through the whole course content to those who have been awarded the Silver Medal of Excellence by the IOP for obtaining 100% in their Leaving Cert. Throughout his time, he has developed a keen awareness of the shifting tides of the Physics Leaving Cert exam to one of a unified approach and how the marking schemes have reflected this. This is reflected in the Unified Strand in the new Leaving Cert Physics Specification. 

His classrooms are a dynamic space where the emphasis is on the understanding and application of the concepts. Physics and Maths are both interwoven throughout the entire curriculum and each branch of the course can be intertwined with the other concepts, not just in the Leaving Cert exam, but also through engineering and technological advances. For this reason, Daniel encourages his students to probe into their cognition to develop a firm grasp on the concept rather than just being able to recall an entire section. This is encouraged through student interaction and forum discussions.
