Thomas Maher obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Geography and History from UCD, graduating with a first class honours. He completed a Professional Masters in Education from DCU, graduating with a first class honours. His passion for education led to the pursuit of a Postgraduate Diploma in Inclusive and Special Education, graduating with a first class honours.
Thomas is very passionate and enthusiastic about geography. Thomas’ teaching style involves having the student at the centre of their own learning by making connections between theory and the geographical world, ultimately developing a deeper understanding of geography. His teaching philosophy centres on the belief that every student has the potential to excel when provided with the right support and resources.
His experiences teaching and correcting for the state examinations commission has given his students a greater understanding of the examination process, allowing them to effectively reach their potential. By fostering critical thinking, curiosity, and a love for geography, Thomas strives to inspire his students to become lifelong learners and informed global citizens.
