Trial our Weekly Grinds. Our Leaving Cert French grinds are delivered with a core focus of getting you better at answering exam questions and building your confidence in the subject itself. As a Grinds student, you will also have access to the archive of class recordings, meaning you will never miss a class.

What is included in our Free Trials:

You can experience our expert teaching first-hand for a free 75-minute grind covering a topic on the course. 
All of our teachers write their own H1 study notes for their subjects, focusing on past and probable exam questions that they feel you need to know for this year's exam. Our free grinds include free notes that you will receive at your grind.
Our teachers strip away the unnecessary sections of each subject and focus solely on the core, examinable material, the aim of which is increasing your exam performance.

How the 6th Year French Grinds Works

1 X Weekly In-Person Exam-Focused Classes (75 mins + 10 min Q&A)

A weekly exam focused French Grind that helps grow students’ confidence and exam performance. After all french grinds, there are 10-minute Q&A sessions with our teachers, allowing time to tackle specific student challenges. Students can also choose to attend this grind online. A monthly note to parents will be sent out which will outline what topics are being covered and the schedule for the month ahead.

 

Supervised Study Lounge Access

Mon-Wed: 5pm-7:45pm | Thur: 4pm-6:45pm | Sat: 10am-1pm 
Students attending the French Grinds have access to a quiet, structured space for focused study at our new State-of-the-art Campus in Blackrock Co. Dublin.

 

The French Grinds Mock Exams with Detailed Solutions

Our French teachers will produce their own mock exams based on their predictions for the upcoming Leaving Certificate French exams, and provide full solutions for students. There will be two Mock French Exams held throughout the year.

Meet your French Teachers

Katie Lenehan

Katie is an energetic and dynamic teacher who employs the most up-to-date education models and methodologies to ensure that all her students are catered for and can reach their goals in the most efficient way possible. She holds a degree in French and Spanish, and a Professional Masters in Education.

Katie's knowledge of languages and linguistics, as well as her experience teaching in some of the most prestigious schools in Dublin, enable her to give specific direction to her students, enabling them to achieve the best possible grades in their exams. Katie has also been an expert contributor on Leaving Cert Spanish and French for RTÉ Radio.


Stephanie O'Neill

Stephanie is an experienced teacher of French and Spanish with a proven track record of helping students excel in their exams. She has guided students at all levels to achieve excellent results through clear explanations, exam-focused preparation, and effective study strategies. She has extensive experience in preparing students for both Junior Cycle and Leaving Certificate examinations, with a strong focus on marking schemes, past papers, and targeted feedback. Her creative approach keeps lessons engaging, while her structured methods give students the confidence and skills they need to maximise their grades.

What is the schedule for grinds?

Start Date:
Classes commence week beginning Monday 1st September 2025.

 

Please note, classes will NOT be held on the following dates:

 

Mid-Term Breaks:
Monday 27th October- classes resume Monday 3rd November 2025
Monday 16th February – classes resume Monday 23rd February 2026

Christmas Holidays:
Monday 8th December 2025 – classes resume on Monday 5th January 2026

Easter Holidays:
Monday 30th March - Sunday 12th April 2026

Final Classes:
Saturday 16th May 2026

Can students ask questions in grinds?

Yes. Regardless of whether students are attending grinds in person or online via live-stream they will be free to ask our teachers questions.

How long are the grinds?

Leaving Cert weekly grinds are 75 minutes in duration. Junior Cert grinds are 60 minutes in duration.

Can I get recordings of the grinds?

As a Grinds student, you will have full access to the archive of class recordings, meaning you will never miss a class.

Can I change my choice of subject for my grind during the year?

Yes, however, please note that an administration charge of €25 will apply if a student decides to change their choice of subject during the year.

How do I access my live-streamed grinds and recordings?

You will access your live-streamed grinds and recrodings via our online learning management system, DASH (Dublin Academy School Hub). We will send you login details for this platform in advance of your grind.

If I opt for live-streamed grinds, how do I get my study notes?

Your study notes will be posted to your house free of charge in advance of your live-streamed grinds commencing. Please note, study notes will take up to 3 working days to arrive from the time of booking.

Can I try out the weekly grinds for free before signing up?

Yes, all students can attend a free trial of our weekly grinds to ensure they are happy with the service.

Do Weekly Grinds take place on bank holiday Mondays?
