Evan Furlong

Mandarin Chinese

Evan is originally from Taiwan and holds a Master’s in Education (MEd) from University College Dublin. Since 2009, she has been teaching both traditional and simplified Mandarin Chinese at primary and post-primary levels.


She is the principal of the Dublin School of Mandarin Chinese and served as a member of the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment’s Development Sub-Group for Leaving Certificate Mandarin Chinese.


Evan also has experience drafting and setting Leaving Cert exam papers for the State Examinations Commission (SEC). She is the co-author of Chinese as a Foreign Language in Post-Primary Schools in Ireland: Demand, Growth and Sustainability.
