New Principal Announcement

Michael Ruaidhri Deasy has been an invaluable part of the Dublin Academy of Education for the last six years and in particular the last two as Our Principal. In order to support his wife in her career in Cancer Research he has made the difficult decision to step down from his role and make the move to New York.

We would like to acknowledge and thank Michael Ruaidhri for his contribution to the school over the last 6 years and he will be greatly missed by all staff and students alike. We wish him and his family all the best in their move!

We are delighted to now announce the appointment of Ciarán Hartigan as the new Principal of the Dublin Academy of Education. Ciarán joined the Academy in 2018 teaching English and also in the role of Examination Secretary. In addition to this, Ciarán took on the role of 5th Year Head in September 2019; his success in this role was notable in the togetherness that Ciaran instilled in the year group.

Prior to joining the Academy Ciarán taught English for 10 years to the highest level and brings all this experience to his new role.

Speaking of his appointment as Principal, Ciarán said:   ‘I feel very privileged to be leading such a unique and dynamic school, heading up a dedicated and professional staff with decades of collective educational experience’.
