1. About these terms
1.1 These terms apply to every Grinds+ plan purchased for the 2026/27 academic year from The Dublin Academy of Education, Temple Road, Blackrock, Co. Dublin, A94 PX83 ("the Academy", "we", "us").
1.2 By enrolling in Grinds+, the person paying for the plan ("the bill payer") agrees to these terms on behalf of themselves and the enrolled student ("the student").
1.3 These terms sit alongside the Academy's policies at dublinacademy.ie/dae-policies, in particular the Code of Conduct, Anti-Bullying Policy, Child Safeguarding Policy and GDPR Policy. Where they differ, these terms apply to Grinds+.
1.4 In these terms:
Grinds+ means the all-inclusive academic plan for the student's chosen year group, as described on the relevant year-group page at the time of purchase.
Recorded Content means class recordings, on-demand videos and any other digital learning materials provided through Grinds+.
Platform means the Grinds+ app and the Grinds+ online platform at grindsplus.ie.
2. Access period
2.1 Grinds+ is a fixed academic-year plan, not a rolling subscription. Access runs from the start of the 2026/27 programme until 11:59pm on 30th June 2027.
2.2 All access to Grinds+, including Recorded Content and the Platform, ends on 1st July 2027 for every student, regardless of the date of enrolment or the payment option chosen.
2.3 Joining later in the year does not extend the access period, and no pro-rata refund or extension is given for time before enrolment.
2.4 Classes and courses that took place before a student enrolled are not repeated, although Recorded Content of past classes may be available for the rest of the access period.
3. Recorded Content
3.1 Recorded Content is provided for the 2026/27 academic year only. Access ends at 11:59pm on 30th June 2027 and Recorded Content will be removed from the student's account on 1st July 2027.
3.2 Recorded Content is for the personal, non-commercial use of the enrolled student only. It can be watched in the Grinds+ app and on the Platform only and is not available to download. It may not be screen-recorded, copied, shared, sold, uploaded elsewhere or otherwise distributed.
3.3 No extension of access to Recorded Content will be granted after the access period ends. No refund or partial refund is available for Recorded Content that was not used.
3.4 All Recorded Content, study notes and teaching materials remain the intellectual property of the Academy and its teachers.
3.5 On bank holidays, live Weekly Grinds do not run. A recorded session is provided instead and counts as that week's class.
3.6 We aim to upload recordings promptly after each class, but we cannot guarantee that every class will be recorded, for example where a technical issue occurs.
3.7 Live classes are recorded. Students who speak or appear on camera during a class may be included in the recording. Students who prefer not to be heard or seen in a recording can type their questions instead. Recordings are made available only to enrolled Grinds+ students and are handled in line with our GDPR Policy.
4. Accounts and login sharing
4.1 Each Grinds+ plan is for one named student. The student's account and login details must not be shared with anyone else, including siblings, friends or classmates.
4.2 The bill payer must provide accurate student details after purchase so the student's account can be set up. Access may be delayed until these details are received.
4.3 If we reasonably believe an account is being shared or misused, we may suspend or end access without refund, after first contacting the bill payer where possible.
4.4 The bill payer and student are responsible for keeping login details secure. Please contact us straight away if you think someone else has accessed the account.
5. Payments and instalments
5.1 Grinds+ can be paid in full at checkout, or by instalment plan: a deposit at checkout followed by monthly instalments. The full payment schedule is shown at checkout before you enrol.
5.2 Both payment options give access to the same Grinds+ plan for the same access period. The instalment plan costs approximately 12% more in total than paying in full. The exact total payable by instalments is shown at checkout before you enrol.
5.3 By choosing the instalment plan, the bill payer agrees to pay every instalment on its due date until the plan is paid in full, even if the student stops using Grinds+.
5.4 If an instalment payment fails, we will notify the bill payer and retry the payment up to two more times, the bill payer will then receive an email if payment has still not been successful. Access to Grinds+ may be paused until the account is brought up to date in some instances.
5.5 Promotional prices (for example, a Back to School Offer) apply only to enrolments completed within the stated offer period and cannot be applied retrospectively.
5.6 All prices are in euro and include any applicable taxes.
6. Cancellations and refunds
6.1 To cancel, the bill payer should contact the Grinds Team on 01 442 4442 or at [email protected].
6.2 After any cooling-off period, Grinds+ fees are non-refundable, except where we are unable to provide the plan as described.
6.3 Cancelling an instalment plan does not cancel instalments already due.
6.4 Where access is ended under section 4.3 or 11.1, no refund is given.
6.5 Where a refund is due, it will normally be paid at the end of the month in which the cancellation is confirmed, using the original payment method. Refunds for cancellations within a statutory cooling-off period will be paid within the timeframe required by law.
7. Subjects, classes and in-person places
7.1 Students may select up to the maximum number of subjects for their year group, as shown on the relevant Grinds+ page at the time of purchase.
7.2 Online classes have no capacity limit. In-person classes at our Blackrock campus have limited places, which are allocated at the time of booking and are subject to availability.
7.3 Subject or class changes may be possible during the year, depending on year group and availability. All changes must be requested through the Grinds Team on 01 442 4442 and are not guaranteed.
7.4 We may need to change class times, teachers, rooms or delivery format (for example, moving a class online) for operational reasons. We will give as much notice as we reasonably can.
7.5 Subjects, features and courses vary by year group. What is included is as described on the relevant year-group page at the time of purchase.
8. Revision courses and additional supports
8.1 Revision courses and additional supports (such as Christmas, Mid-Term and Easter Revision, Crash Courses, Oral Preparation and HPAT courses) are included only where listed for the student's year group.
8.2 Students must book included revision courses using the booking form we send after enrolment. In-person places on these courses are limited and allocated on a first-come basis.
8.3 Courses that ran before the student enrolled, or that the student does not attend, are not refunded, transferred or carried over to a later year.
8.4 Some supports, such as HPAT preparation, may be delivered with a partner organisation and may be subject to that partner's own terms.
9. Study notes
9.1 For subjects taken online, hard-copy H1 notes are posted to the address provided at checkout. Please allow up to 4 working days for delivery from the time of booking. For subjects taken in person, notes are handed out in class.
9.2 Notes are provided for the subjects selected and may be posted or handed out in stages during the year.
9.3 Notes are issued once per subject. Replacement copies can be arranged on a case-by-case basis by calling our office. If a student changes subject through the Grinds Team, notes for the new subject will be provided. An administration fee applies to replacement notes, changes of subject, and any case where notes need to be couriered.
9.4 Notes are for the student's personal use only and may not be copied, scanned, shared or resold.
10. Free trials, discounts and single subjects
10.1 Free trials and free taster classes are online only and do not include printed notes. Free trials usually last 7 days, and the length is confirmed at sign-up. Access ends automatically when the trial ends.
10.2 Sibling discounts are available when more than one student from the same family enrols. To discuss a sibling discount, please phone the Grinds Team on 01 442 4442, ideally before enrolling. Sibling discounts are not available through online checkout.
10.3 Single-subject places are available by phoning the Grinds Team on 01 442 4442. Single-subject places follow these terms, including the access period in section 2.
10.4 Discounts and offers cannot be combined unless we state otherwise.
11. Conduct, Platform and general terms
11.1 Students are expected to behave respectfully towards teachers, staff and other students in person, in live-streamed classes and on the Platform, in line with the Academy's Code of Conduct and Anti-Bullying Policy. Students must not record, screenshot, photograph or stream live classes, or post images or content of teachers or other students without their permission. Serious or repeated misconduct may result in access being suspended or ended without refund.
11.2 We aim to keep the Platform available throughout the access period but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. If the Platform is unavailable for an extended period, we will provide classes and Recorded Content through an alternative method.
11.3 Students need a suitable device and internet connection to access online classes and Recorded Content. We are not responsible for issues caused by the student's own equipment or connection.
11.4 Personal data, including class recordings, is handled in line with our GDPR Policy at dublinacademy.ie/gdpr-policy-dae. Data access requests can be made as set out in that policy.
11.5 We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force at the time of purchase applies to that purchase, except for changes required by law.
11.6 These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland.
11.7 Questions about these terms can be sent to the Grinds Team on 01 442 4442 or at [email protected].
