TEG Oral Prep Course
The Dublin Academy of Education is running an online course aimed at those who will be doing the TEG Meánleibhéal 1 (B1) exam, a requirement of application for the PME in Primary Education.
The online course focuses on the main topics of the oral exam:
- The structure of the interview
- Where you live/Your Family
- General conversation
- Role card activity
- Picture series
Students who complete this online course will receive:
– Over 10 hours of content
– 2 mock online oral exams with feedback on what areas to improve on
– Comprehensive study notes
About the teacher – Séadhan de Poire: Séadhan de Poire is specialised in providing students with a clear, fundamental understanding of what is examinable on the TEG syllabus. His teaching style is focused on covering the curriculum in a concise way, so that students have the tools to successfully manage the likely oral exam questions. Séadhan is a popular teacher due to his ability to stimulate students’ interest in the subject. He works with the state examinations commission correcting exam papers and is an Oral examiner for the Leaving Certificate. He has also taught in the Gaeltacht in Coláiste Ciarán and Coláise Ó Direáin.
Does TEG satisfy the Irish language requirement for postgraduate courses in primary teaching?chevron_right
Yes. The Department of Education and Skills, the Teaching Council and the Colleges of Education have recognised TEG Meánleibhéal 2 (B2) as one of the Irish language qualifications that meet the entry requirement for postgraduate courses in primary teaching. In addition, applicants for the Professional Master of Education (Primary) are required to achieve a minimum of 65% in a TEG B1 oral examination in order to apply for that programme.
