The Dublin Academy of Education is running Christmas Revision Courses from Tuesday 28th December – Friday 31st December in Stillorgan.

Students who sign up to these courses will receive:

  • On average, 250 pages of our H1 study notes per subject.
  • Five hours of expert tuition with some of Ireland’s most dedicated and passionate teachers per subject.
  • Past and probable exam questions that are likely to appear in this year’s State Examinations.

Students can sign up to these courses in any of the following ways:

On-Site: Attend in person in our classroom-based courses in Stillorgan, Dublin.

Online: Attend online via our HD live-streaming technology.

On-Demand: Watch pre-recorded HD video content with our teachers. Students have access to this for the month of January.

Should government guidelines change and schools be forced to close, all classes will proceed via live-stream.

Nichola Walsh Chemistry Teacher Dublin Academy of EducationMeet your Chemistry Teacher – Dr. Nichola Walsh: Nichola has a first-class honours degree in chemistry and Ph.D. from U.C.D. and she completed her Postgraduate Certificate in Education at the University of Oxford.  She is an experienced teacher who has taught G.C.S.E, A-level, and Leaving Certificate chemistry and was an undergraduate chemistry tutor and lab demonstrator in U.C.D.  She is a passionate teacher who loves teaching science and this comes across in her classes.  Nichola is also an examiner for higher-level Leaving Cert Chemistry, which has given her an invaluable insight into grading the chemistry paper.  She regularly incorporates this knowledge into her classes to ensure students maximise their marks.

Topics Covered in this Leaving Cert Home Economics Revision Course:

The crucial topics will be covered focusing on Lipids, Cereals and Vitamins. Emphasis will be placed on learning how to master Section A (short questions), along with compulsory Q1. Time will be given to current topics expected to appear on the paper in June. What is the difference between the Live and On-Demand Christmas Revision Courses?

Students attending our Live Christmas Revision Courses will attend classes over four days at our school in Stillorgan or alternatively can watch from home via live-stream. Students attending our On-Demand Christmas Revision Courses will be able to watch pre-recorded versions of the same courses via our Dublin Academy Study Hub Learning Platform, where the courses will be available to re-watch for the month of January.

Can I sign up to both Live and On-Demand Christmas Revision Courses?

What is the format of the Live Christmas Revision Courses?

Students attending Live Christmas Revision Courses will attend a 75-minute class each day for four days (5 hours in total). They will also receive an average of 250+ pages of our H1 study notes per course.

What is the format of the On-Demand Christmas Revision Courses?

Students attending On-Demand Christmas Revision Courses will receive 6.25 hours of tuition via pre-recorded videos which can be watched and re-watched for up to a month. They will also receive an average of 250+ pages of our H1 study notes per course posted free-of-charge directly to their home.

Do I need the notes to get value from the On-Demand Christmas Revision Courses?

Yes, absolutely. Students who attempt to watch the On-Demand Christmas Revision Courses without the notes will not get value from these courses as our teachers constantly refer to the notes constantly throughout the video lessons. As such, we advise all students to follow classes with the notes in front of them.

If I take the On-Demand or Live-Stream Christmas Revision Courses, how and when do I get my notes?

Please allow 3 working days to receive your notes. There may be a scenario where you are granted access to our online Christmas Revision Courses prior to the notes arriving but we advise students to wait until they have the notes before commencing watching the online video lessons.

Can notes be delivered to anywhere in the country?

How will I view the On-Demand Christmas Revision Courses?

Can you only view the videos once? How long will I have access to the online courses?

No, you can pause, rewind and rewatch all of the videos. You will have access for one month.

Can I be logged on to the On-Demand Christmas Revision Courses on more than one device at a time?

Will there be timetable clashes?

Can you do these courses if you don’t live in Dublin?

Yes, by attending our On-Demand Christmas Revision Courses, you can attend from the comfort of your own home. You will also have hard copies of the notes posted to you so you don’t have to worry about printing them out.
