3rd Year FREE Back to School Courses

We have designed Free Back to School Courses to help students in all years get back on track before returning to school in September.

Students can experience these live and interactive FREE Back to School Courses by attending either:

  • On-site: We offer on-site classroom-based courses from our Stillorgan location.
  • Online via Live-stream: We also offer students the option of attending these courses via live-stream meaning they can participate from anywhere in Ireland.

The aim of these Back to School Courses is to ensure that students are ready to hit the ground running in the new academic year.

Key information:

  • Each Free Course is 1 hour in duration and students can register for two courses. This gives students up to 2 hours of free tuition with some of Ireland’s most passionate and dedicated teachers.
  • Each Free Course covers a key area of the course providing valuable insights for students. For more information on specific course content see the ‘Subjects’ tab.
  • All courses come with our renowned study notes which students can download free of charge.

Junior Cycle students can expect an in-depth look at the examination paper focusing on the importance of timing and exam management. We will also identify the terms that every Junior Cycle student needs to succeed and optimise their mark. The main topic for the class is Poetry. Apart from going through poetry questions and looking at how answers should be structured, I will show you how to reduce your workload when it comes to poetry in the exams.

Meet your English Teacher – Ciarán Hartigan: Ciarán Hartigan has been teaching English to the highest level for over 10 years and brings an organised and methodical approach to his teaching. Amy Weddell French Teacher at The Dublin Academy of EducationMeet your French Teacher – Amy Weddell: Amy Weddell has an International Degree in French and German and has spent time living in both countries. As a member of the Irish Mathematics Teachers’ Association, he is a popular teacher amongst students due to his mastery of the Project Maths Syllabus, and is well-known for his ability to stimulate students’ interest in Maths.

Meet your Spanish Teacher – Rebekah Butler: Rebekah Butler holds a degree in Spanish and Economics, and a Professional Masters in Education. Through her studies, she has learned and developed various teaching methodologies which can assist students of all abilities achieve their full potential, consequently, obtaining the best possible grades in their exams. She is passionate and enthusiastic in ensuring her classroom is a positive place, which not only promotes learning and growth, but also helps to instil a love for the subjects into students.

Topics Covered in this Back to School Course: Photosynthesis and Respiration

This will cover photosynthesis in detail and show how it links to respiration. All experiments are given in detail in the notes. Respiration will be touched on again when we do the digestive, circulatory and breathing systems to show how they work together to make respiration happen.
