Christmas Jumper Day
Last Friday, 11th December, we wrapped up our first term here at The Academy with some festive fun. Our students, along with some help from year heads Tracy, Rob and Lorraine, organised some fun events to mark the Christmas holidays and help out a very important charity. The LauraLynn Children’s Hospice, provides specialised hospice care for children with life-limiting conditions, and also free care and support for their families and we are proud to be able to raise some vital funds for them.
Whilst the 5th year Students were busy organising a Christmas Jumper Day, Pearl and Rameel, two of our 6th Year Class Reps organised a Kahoot quiz for the entire school. Though there was some stiff competition for the Best Christmas Jumper however, David, Matthew and Owen were awarded the coveted prize for best dressed as evidenced by the below photos!
After the selection of Best Dressed, it was time for our Kahoot quiz on zoom. As we might expect with our ambitious and driven students, there was some heated competition, and the victors walked away with some well-earned Dundrum Town Centre vouchers, while the vanquished walked away with the certain knowledge that they had in fact been the true winners, and that the technology was somehow responsible for their loss! Well done to all involved!
