Meet your Chemistry Teacher
Claire O'Brien
Claire has been teaching Leaving Certificate Chemistry for more than a decade. She was awarded an Entrance Scholarship and Entrance Exhibition Award to the University and numerous University President’s Letters for Outstanding Academic Achievement during her time at UL. Claire graduated with both a First-Class Honours Degree in Science Education and her Post Grad. in Maths from The University of Limerick.
It is her attention to detail and exam focus, alongside her understanding of marking State Exams that helps her to support students in reaching their own academic goals.
Claire’s focus is on making the Leaving Certificate content engaging, relevant and accessible. She strives to encourage students to thoroughly understand the material and thereby gain confidence in their studies. Her lessons are exam-focused and notes are closely aligned with the SEC marking schemes ensuring that her students are best prepared for the written exams. Claire views the Leaving Certificate as an opportunity, and she wants to help her students open as many doors for the future as possible.
