Dublin Marathon 2025: Team Dublin Academy of Education Goes the Distance

On the 26th October 2025, thousands took to the streets of Dublin for the annual Irish Life Dublin Marathon, a 26.2 mile journey through the heart of Dublin that celebrates endurance, community and spirit. Among them were members of the Team Dublin Academy of Education, who laced up not just for the challenge, but for causes close to their hearts.

There’s no greater motivation to train so intensely than having a purpose beyond a personal best. Each step taken by our team represented strength, hope and support for families facing illness and adversity.

Chris Lauder and Dawn McCarron ran in aid of The Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland raising funds and awareness through their incredible efforts. The team was joined by other Dublin Academy team members, Chris O’Brien and JP Sweetman who were raising money for their various charities. Their dedication on race day and throughout months of training embodies the determination and compassion we value so deeply at The Academy.

The atmosphere on the streets of Dublin was electric, with supporters (including our own Academy staff) lining every mile to cheer runners on. For Team Academy, the experience was about much more than crossing the finish line, it was about unity, resilience and community spirit.

A huge congratulations to all our runners on their outstanding achievement. You’ve not only conquered 26.2 milestones but also inspired us all with your commitment to making a difference.
