DAE Debating Team Win The Cambridge Schools Debating Competition.

The Dublin Academy Of Education is the first school from Ireland to win the Cambridge Schools Debating Competition.

Any school seeking to enter from outside the UK must first qualify at a regional level. Not only did the DAE Team qualify, they came first overall in the Irish regional rounds!

After this amazing achievement, the team then travelled to the Cambridge Union, the oldest continuously running debating society in the world, founded in 1815.

They debated against extremely tough competition from all over the world, eventually qualifying for the final alongside teams from South Korea, Canada and England.

There were a wide range of topics to debate on the way to the final.

Some of these included;

 - 'This house would ban for-profit organisations and corporations from funding research within academic institiutions'

- 'This house believes that the lifing of the trade embargo against Cuba is in the interests of the Biden Administration'

 - 'This house would start believing in religion'

In the end the DAE Team came out victorious and became the first school from Ireland to EVER do so. Everyone in The Dublin Academy Of Education is immensly proud of their achievement and want to extend a massive congratulations to all those involved.
